Stonehenge - the summer solstice!

Yesterday (in the Northern Hemisphere) it was the summer solstice!

The summer solstice is the day every year with the longest period of daylight and the shortest period of darkness. Here is to more daylight, warmer days, and the official start of summer!

In Ian’s image, we see a great bustard on the site of Stonehenge, England, which was built to align with the sun on the solstices.
“Great bustards were hunted to extinction in England during the 19th century, but a number of these birds have been successfully re-introduced on Salisbury Plain.
Stonehenge offers a small number of sunset tickets each day where you can explore the inner circle and I happened to meet this great bustard there on my last visit.” - Ian Wood
