The first Thanksgiving feast

The first Thanksgiving feast looked very different from what we serve today. Instead of turkey and stuffing, the 1621 table leaned on what the Wampanoag harvested, gathered, and hunted — think venison, wildfowl, seafood, native grains, and foraged ingredients. It was a seasonal meal shaped by local knowledge, not a fixed holiday menu.
