Egypt has opened the Grand Egyptian Museum, its biggest cultural preservation effort in more than twenty years
Sitting next to the Giza Pyramids, the museum spans roughly 500,000 square meters. For the first time, the entire Tutankhamun collection is presented in one place, showcasing around 50,000 artifacts. Public access begins on November 4. The launch is set to reshape Cairo’s tourism flow and give Egypt a modern showcase for its most iconic antiquities.
