Skara Brae

Skara Brae, located on the Orkney Islands of Scotland, is renowned as the most intact Neolithic settlement in Europe, dating back to approximately 3180 BCE. Often referred to as the "Scottish Pompeii," this extraordinary archaeological site comprises a collection of stone structures, including beds, shelves, and fireplaces, offering a fascinating glimpse into the daily lives of its ancient residents. For centuries, it was concealed beneath sand dunes until a powerful storm uncovered it in 1850. Today, it proudly stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
