Today in History (27 November 1582): William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway. Pictured is a marble statue of Shakespeare in Leicester Square, created by Giovanni Fontana in 1874. The statue features Shakespeare leaning on a pile of books and is inspired by the original monument in Poets' Corner, Westminster Abbey.
