Discoveries Monument, Belem, Portugal

The Monument to the Discoveries in Belem commemorates Portugal's Age of Exploration and is shaped like the prow of a caravel, a Portuguese sailing ship.


It features 33 statues of important figures from that era, including Prince Henry the Navigator, who is prominently positioned at the front.


The monument also has a compass rose and a world map at its base, showcasing the routes of Portuguese explorers.
